See You Soon Alex........

My son left this morning for Atlanta. We were up and on the bus at 3 am, at the airport by 3:30, and on the plane before 4:30 am. It was a bittersweet moment for me.....my baby is all grown up and flying the friendly skies, without his mother!!! He looked so grown up and actually looked happy to be leaving........a little break from each other will be good. However, I do miss him, as it is very quiet here.

I actually have a busy week ahead of me......work late tomorrow, on call Friday, traveling to Bismarck on Saturday, will be home Sunday to clean my house, and then back on call Monday, work Tuesday, and then Alex will be home that night!!! The time will go fast, will be no time for tears!!
The following are pics from this morning. Enjoy!

The look that says....."get that camera out of here, why did I let you come to the airport?"

Alex checking in.........

All ready for his new adventure....watch out HOTlanta!!!

Lastly, the airplane that I trusted with my sons life!! He landed in Atlanta around 11 am this morning safely. I was never so relieved to here that they landed, and that he did not get sick on his first flight!! Last I heard they were shopping at the mall connected to the motel waiting to get into their rooms.

While uploading pictures, I got a disturbing email that I must share. As many of you may or may not know, my friend Murray passed away in November 2007. (he was 45) Prior to his cancer diagnosis, his daughter (15 yrs old) had 7 months of treatment for melenoma. Megan found out last week that she has some suspicious lymph nodes in her neck, and will have to be removed. Megan is to start her first year at NDSU in August. Please keep Murrays family in your prayers.....this just makes me sick.....how much more can this family go through???

Enjoy the rest of the week,

Rita

Busy Weekend

Sadly, my 4 day weekend has almost come to an end. It's Sunday evening, and I am exhausted. The weather here has been hot the past couple days. We have had no rain in the last 48 hours, but there's rumors of thunderstorms tonight. For as much rain as we've had, it sure is dry again. (my flowers are always thirsty!)

Here's a recent pic of my Tiger Lillies. They are in full bloom, wish they would stay that way the whole summer.

For the past week, we have been dog sitting my brothers dog, Zoey. She's a cute dog with no teeth. Zoey went home yesterday and Arthur misses her like crazy. Here's a pic of the 2 of them with Alex. Of course the dogs were more interested in what was going on at the neighbors.

Not much else has been going on here. We got alot of yard work done the past few days, went to look at a car for Alex, planted a few more flowers, started staining the fence. Alex leaves on Wednesday for the National FBLA convention, so we've been preparing for that. I hate packing, esp when he has to wear dress clothes while he's there!! It's been stressing me out.

Hope everyone has a great week. I will be enjoying a quiet house in a couple days, and cannot wait. I am sure after a couple days, I will be missing him like crazy......(or maybe I won't?)

Saturday Treasures

Just thought I would post quick, and show you my new treasures from Saturdays City Wide Garage sales.............the only pic I don't have is of my outdoor Christmas tree, which I love!!

A minature sled like the one we used to use growing up. $3.00

Candle holder and candles. Thought is was pretty neat, $3.00.

And...a cool looking candle thingy with rocks, I just had to add the candle. $2.50

There you have it, my Saturday morning full of bargains. I think I got some neat things, considering I wasn't even going to go shopping.

That's all for now, I have to get to bed, been up since 4:30am.

Have a great week!!

New Licensed Driver......

Well, I now have another licensed driver in my home!! My son passed his drivers test this morning at 7:30. He was way beyond excited....we celebrated by having breakfast at Perkins. After breakfast, we went to the State Farm office to see what it would cost for him to be insured. Yikes!! It really was not as bad as I thought it would be. So, once again, we will survive!!
The weather here this week has been kind of yucky. Some rain, and alot of gloom. Makes for nice sleeping weather. (hence the reason I took a 3 hour nap today)
That's all for now, I will post more over the weekend, with some pics!!
Enjoy the rest of the week!!
